Field Ready meets humanitarian and reconstruction aid needs, by localizing the manufacturing of essential relief and reconstruction items. These open-source products will be shared widely, and the skills and capacity to replicate them are keys to our approach. An example is the foot-operated handwashing unit. The foot operated handwashing unit allows people to wash their hands without touching a tap, hence its reduce the spread of physical contact with surfaces the device is easily operated using legs. The taps have proven a simple yet highly effective way to battle COVID-19, enabling hand washing without contaminating sink fixtures or threatening personal sanitation once hands are clean.
